Emergency Stop for the Jet BD-920N Lathe Spindle Motor
Last updated on Saturday, September 03, 2011 08:34:53 AM Eastern US Time Zone

An emergency stop button for the BD-920N Jet lathe. The housing was cut at 38º from an aluminum enclosure.

WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD. FIRST UNPLUG THE LATHE MOTOR FROM THE 120 VAC OUTLET
It is good practice to activate the E-Stop button while setting up the lathe.

The stop button interrupts the hot, 120 VAC line-in (L1).
BD-920N manual
The two red switch wires pass through an insulating rubber grommet.

Though over-rated, the two switches (STDP) were wired in parallel for redundancy & less current per contact.

The back panel bracket extends down to allow attachment to the lathe's
steel switch cover using two, 10-32 bolts screwed into tapped holes.

See E-Stop for the Taig CNC mill.
